Welcome to She Inspires Me Photography. I believe that everyone has a story. Here is a piece of mine...I am a wife and a mother of two precious little ones.  By Profession I am a grade 1 teacher. I have always been a creative person by nature. When my daughter was born she was diagnosed with a severe case of hip dysplasia (nothing serious or life threatining, I know) but I was heartbroken to learn that my first born would under go open reduction hip surgery at only 5 months old! Then for the next 4 months she would be in a body cast...

A few days after my daughters surgery my mother in law forced my husband and I out of the house to go have a break. We decided to go for lunch at a local bagel shop. While sitting in the restaurant I couldn't help but watch the table directly across from us. It was a table of mothers with their babies, all around the same age of my little one. I was saddened by this. I watched as they enjoyed each others company and played with their little ones. It was difficult for me to watch this, knowing that I couldn't really be apart of fun groups like this as my daughter was in a cast and it was difficult to do anything with her. And not to mention the stares and whispers I got when I did take her out in public. I went home and couldn't get lunch out of my head  and I decided that I need to snap out of this state of mind!!! I spent too long being depressed over this.  I had a beautiful and smart little girl. I was blessed to have her and I needed to get over the fact that she was different from all the other babies and enjoy her. I then began to see beauty in our current situation. So I embraced her new body (cast) and began taking pictures of her.  Every month or so I would post a picture of her and I would receive a lot of positive feedback regarding my pictures. Thus began my journey of photography.... almost 10 years later and people are contacting me to take their family photos. I love taking pictures  meeting new clients and discovering their stories... Everyday I feel so lucky to have gone through this journey with my daughter, it has truly made me the person I am today. As part of giving back a portion of all bookings will be donated to Hospital for Sick Children on behalf of She Inspires Me (Natalie). xo
